Bakirkoy Suite for Couples: Special Occasion Booking Tips
When you book an apartment for a special occasion, the most important thing is to state your expectations clearly during booking and get written confirmation. If you settle the apartment type, check-in time, ID documents and special requests in advance, you can simply enjoy the moment on the day itself.
This guide is for couples planning an anniversary, birthday, marriage proposal or a short getaway in our apartments in Zeytinlik, Bakırköy (Bakirkoy). Most of what we cover will be useful wherever you stay.
1. Set the date and time early
The date of a special occasion is usually fixed; the flexible part is the time. First decide whether the celebration will happen in the evening, at midnight or the next morning. This decision shapes the check-in time, the dinner reservation and, if you have one, the timing of the surprise.
Weekends, public holidays and summer periods can be busier. Asking about availability as soon as your date is fixed increases your chance of finding the apartment type you want.
2. Choose the apartment type to suit your needs
Two apartment types stand out for couples on this site; the difference is in the layout.

If you will spend a long time in the apartment, opening gifts and talking, the One-bedroom apartment (1+1) is more comfortable. If you will spend most of the evening out and use the apartment to rest, the Studio apartment (1+0) is a simple choice. 3. Put check-in and check-out times into the plan
Check-in is from 14:00, and check-out is by 11:00. If you want to prepare the apartment before your partner arrives, ask about early check-in in advance; if you want a relaxed morning, ask about late check-out. Both depend on availability. If you will arrive late at night, tell us your arrival time in advance so check-in can be planned around it.
4. Bring your ID documents
In Turkey, every guest's ID details are legally registered at accommodation. For international guests, a passport is required; Turkish citizens can also use their T.C. identity card. So at check-in, both guests need their passports, or T.C. identity cards if they are Turkish citizens. If you are planning a surprise, pay attention to this small detail: make sure your partner brings their ID without realising why.
5. Ask about special requests during booking
If you are thinking of decorations, cake, flowers or something similar, discuss it during booking. In that conversation we can clarify together what is suitable and what to watch out for with any materials you bring. If you are doing your own preparation, these general tips help:
- Use battery-powered LED candles instead of real candles.
- Choose light, residue-free decorations such as balloons, photos or note cards.
- Buy cake or flowers close to the time of the celebration; the apartment's own kitchen makes serving easier.
- Materials are easy to carry up to the floor; the building has an elevator.
6. Confirm the price and conditions in writing
Just send us your date and number of guests; we will tell you the current price straight away by phone or WhatsApp. The reservation is confirmed by written message, and cancellation and change terms are also sent in writing. You can pay in cash, by bank transfer/EFT or by credit card on site; you do not need to share your card details online. Make sure the confirmation message includes:
- Check-in and check-out dates
- Apartment type
- The outcome regarding early check-in or late check-out
- The special requests you discussed
7. Take the building and surroundings into account
The building has an elevator and security cameras; that gives peace of mind when arriving with luggage and returning late at night. Part of the celebration will also happen outside: Bakırköy Freedom Square (Özgürlük Meydanı), with İstanbul Caddesi around it, is about 6 minutes away, and the Bakırköy seafront is about 14 minutes on foot. If you are coming by car, research nearby parking options in advance. For breakfast, the cafés around the square are close by.

Common questions
How far in advance should I book an apartment for a special occasion?
We recommend asking as soon as your date is set. Especially for weekends, public holidays and summer periods, asking early improves the chance of finding the apartment type you want.
Can I use my own decorations in the apartment?
Please ask during booking; we will clarify what is suitable in that conversation. Battery-powered candles and light, easy-to-clean decorations that leave no residue make things easier.
What are the cancellation terms?
Cancellation and change terms are provided in writing during booking. If your special-occasion date may change, we recommend mentioning this at the start of the conversation.
